Meet the Founder

Jessie King | Founder, The Cogburn & Call Co. Mobile Bar

After more than a decade in law enforcement and a lifetime of serving others, Cogburn & Call Co. was born.

While these two worlds may seem different, they have more in common than you might think. Special events require organization, quick problem-solving, adaptability, and someone who can keep everything running smoothly no matter what comes their way.

That's exactly what I bring to every event I serve.

Cogburn & Call Co. was created with intention—a woman-owned business built on professionalism, reliability, and elevated hospitality. I wanted to create more than just a mobile bar service. I wanted my clients to feel confident knowing every detail would be handled with care, clear communication, and precision from start to finish.

Because when your big day arrives, the last thing you should be worrying about is the bar.

Every cocktail is thoughtfully crafted.
Every setup is intentional.
Every timeline matters.

Whether it's an intimate backyard celebration or a luxury wedding reception, my goal is always the same: to create a seamless, elevated experience where guests feel welcomed, celebrations feel effortless, and every moment can be enjoyed to the fullest.

At Cogburn & Call Co., service isn't just what we do—it's the standard we're proud to bring to every pour.

The Cogburn Namesake

Growing up, some of my favorite memories were simple ones—watching classic Westerns with my dad. John Wayne was a staple in our house, and there was always a VHS tape ready to go. One of his favorites was Rooster Cogburn. Another was the legendary mini-series Lonesome Dove, which we’d revisit time and time again.

There was one character in particular who always stuck with me—Captain Woodrow F. Call. Steady, principled, and quietly strong, he was the kind of presence you don’t forget. His name also sparked a playful connection to a phrase I’ve always loved in hospitality: “last call.”

Over time, those memories and influences started to weave themselves into something more meaningful. With my own background in law enforcement and a lifelong appreciation for Western grit, loyalty, and camaraderie, the name became more than just a reference—it became a tribute. Not only to those stories I grew up with, but especially to the man who first shared them with me.

Our tagline, “Gathered in Good Company,” carries that same spirit forward. It reflects a belief I’ve always held close: that we’re shaped by the people around us. It echoes the idea that iron sharpens iron, as well as the Latin phrase from Lonesome Dove, Uva uvam vivendo varia fit (“A grape ripens in the company of others”). To me, they all point to the same truth—life is richer, stronger, and more meaningful when shared with good company.

After I lost my dad in 2012, I began noticing eagles appearing in quiet, unexpected moments. Over time, they became something I couldn’t ignore—a presence that always felt like him. Today, the eagle is part of our brand as a symbol of guidance, strength, and something that never really leaves you, even when someone is gone.

Meet the Family Behind the Bar

If you've spent more than five minutes around us, you've probably figured out that we're a family that loves a good gathering. We love celebrating life's big moments, making people feel welcome, and finding any excuse to share a drink and some laughs with the people we care about.

Somewhere between family get-togethers, cocktails on the patio, and a whole lot of "you know what would be fun..." conversations, the idea for Cogburn & Call Co. was born. What started as a dream quickly turned into late-night planning sessions, endless brainstorming, and eventually, a mobile bar that we couldn't wait to share with others.

Today, I get to run this business alongside my husband Matt, my brother Jeremy, and my sister-in-law Amanda—who also happens to be my lifelong best friend. Building something together as a family has been one of the most rewarding adventures we've ever taken on.

Whether we're serving signature cocktails at a wedding, pouring drinks at a corporate event, or celebrating with friends in someone's backyard, our goal is always the same: to create an experience that feels welcoming, personal, and memorable.

At the end of the day, Cogburn & Call Co. is about more than cocktails. It's about bringing people together, celebrating life's milestones, and making sure every guest feels like they're part of the party.

And if you've ever been included in one of our group chats, you already know this entire business is powered by caffeine, friendship, and just a tiny bit of chaos. 🍸
